He has become a brand in himself and for some younger graffiti writers Banksy is fair game. The mischievous, anonymous outsider taking shots at the establishment is now a part of Britain's art scene. Councils are quick to restore and protect works that previously they would have scrubbed away as vandalism. He has kept his identity secret for years and built a cult around his name. He still manages to walk the tightrope between maverick and mainstream but how long can he maintain that position?

This item arrived yesterday and was packed well. It was in perfect condition upon removal from the large, flat box. I was surprised at the color of the metal, as I was expecting it to be silver tone. The spikes of the starburst are dark metal, nearly black - that doesn't come through on the picture here. The glass beads are more like large, flat, faceted rhinestones. All in all, a very pretty item. I will keep it, it will be in a grouping of 3 starbursts so it will still look great in my living room.
Banksy was also credited with the opening couch gag for the 2010 The Simpsons episode "MoneyBart", depicting people working in deplorable conditions and using endangered or mythical animals to make both the episodes cel-by-cel and the merchandise connected with the program. His name appears several times throughout the episode's opening sequence, spray-painted on assorted walls and signs. Fox sanitised parts of the opening "for taste" and to make it less grim. In January 2011, Banksy published the original storyboard on its website. According to Banksy, the storyboard "led to delays, disputes over broadcast standards and a threatened walk out by the animation department." Executive director Al Jean jokingly said, "This is what you get when you outsource."
A personalized canvas print from our best-rated canvas shop starts with a cherished photo or artwork in PNG, JPG or BMP file formats (up to 25 MB). Your image is printed on a specially manufactured canvas using a high-quality polyester/cotton blend. The canvas is printed using state-of-the-art technology using UV-resistant Latex inks. These are the preferred inks for printing on canvas because they ensure exact duplication of the photo or artwork and provide vibrancy and longevity. They won’t fade or bleed.

Bubble Slide Girl was painted on the wall of a youth club in Hackney, East London in February 2008. It depicts a little girl using a drain pipe as a slide while blowing bubbles. The image shows the girl adapting to her surroundings and finding a playground in an unlikely place, just as society continues to adapt to difficulties in the world around us. Unfortunately this particular example of Banksy’s work has now been removed with only a faint outline still visible. Bubble Girl location
For perhaps obvious reasons, digital reproductions can be frowned upon in the art world. Part of that is because they discourage originality—think of how many dorm rooms are decorated with a poster of Monet's Water-Lilies because the campus bookstore sells them for $10—but mostly it's just snobbery. Art prints aren't considered original art, so some people look down on them. [Insert extremely long pause here.] Are you wondering, Why the hell would I care if something's "original art" if it's cute and inexpensive and the artist is happy to sell it to me?? Well, same, thankfully. Lots of artists produce and sell art prints for way less than their originals as a way to make some cash flow but also to just get their art out in the world to more people. You're still supporting them by buying one of these if you can't afford the real thing! Once simply framed, digital prints can look super spiffy and finished in any room in your house. A gallery wall starts to look way more doable if you shop for art prints instead of originals! And you don't have to end up with some cheesy reproduction of an old-timey piece that hangs in the Louvre (those tend to be called "fine art prints" if you're trying to avoid them).

According to some sources, his real name would be Robin or Robert Banks but, again, nothing is certain. Banksy insists stubbornly on remaining anonymous, as the graffiti’s spirit that involves creating artworks in the purest secret. His art is a mixture of irony, irreverence, humor and often contains very clear messages, in the context where they are not interpreted literally.
First and foremost, always follow your instincts. Art is a very personal thing, and everyone experiences it a little differently. What you consider to be energetic or inspiring might be relaxing to someone else – and both of you are right. If you’re passionate about a piece, go for it. That excitement has a big effect when decorating because your enthusiasm shows through in the way you highlight those room accents. This also means that any suggestion that you read about or notice is always open to negotiation, including the ones we offer here. Feel free to put your spin on any style or idea.
There is some debate over whether or not Secured is actually a genuine Banksy artwork. It appeared on a boarded up window of a building in Concert Street, Liverpool and pokes fun at companies who use cheap migrant workers for jobs such as security guards. The full text reads “Secured – by sleepy migrant workers on minimum wage”. The board was exhibited at the Stealing Banksy exhibition, but as this was not done in partnership with Banksy and none of that displayed artworks were authenticated by Banksy or his representative Pest Control this does not prove that this is a genuine Banksy. The Thekla boat in Bristol was originally tagged by Banksy in 2003. The moored nightclub boat’s owners posted an image of the “tag” on their website and asked their customers whether it should stay. The response was to keep it, but Bristol City Council later ordered its removal. Years after its removal, Banksy returned and re-painted the Grim Reaper in the same spot where it remains to this day.
