More than twenty-five MIT-affiliated artists added their individual contributions throughout spring 2017, culminating in a single, connected mural in May 2017. New murals and animations are added each semester. In addition to their work at MIT, the Borderline team has created AR animations for work by Takashi Murakami at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and traveled to São Paulo, Brazil in summer 2018 to meet with artists and designers and create a collaborative work at the FabLab in the Porto Seguro Cultural Center. In 2018, Borderline was runner-up in HUB Madness, a competition for creative projects at the intersection of art, science, and tech in Boston, hosted by HUBweek.
This could be could be construed as commentary, a twist on Banksy’s well-publicized distaste for the rich people buying and selling his art at grotesque prices like he’s Jeff Koons or something. Or it could interpreted as rubbish, selling fundamentally lazy and internally inconsistent “gotchas” about cultural capitalism back to the ultra-wealthy architects of it as monuments to themselves. As the Guardian’s Charlie Brooker put it in 2006:

TechCrunch noted that the art in question was listed as being given to the owner by Banksy in 2006, meaning that the internal components as well as a charged battery inside either lasted 12 years—seemingly unlikely—or the device was primed prior to the sale by someone working on behalf of the artist. In either case, it seems likely an individual in attendance hit a remote trigger as soon as the auction closed.

The Borderline Mural Project covers a 200 foot long wall in the tunnels under the campus of MIT with murals and magic. The tunnel is a commonly used route between MIT Buildings 66 and E17 during bad weather. A useful connection between point A to point B, Borderline aims to make the tunnels a destination. The magic comes in the form of augmented reality: viewers can use the Artvive mobile phone app to experience an extension of the imagery.
The church of Saint Jean Baptiste was restored in 1954 and the 15th century carvings on its corbels were then highlighted in paint. The choir and belfry are now listed monuments. The new church of Notre-Dame des Sables was opened in 1886 on the marketplace of the beach quarter. Its seating for 1,500 was to cater principally for holiday makers in season and the patients from the many medical establishments profiting from the sea air. There are paintings on the choir walls.

In a statement, the German museum said the owner of the picture was convinced to lend it to the museum (“despite stiff competition from other quarters”) because of the institution’s strong track record of exhibiting urban art, including a JR exhibition in 2014. To buttress the Banksy presentation, the museum will host a talk titled, “Can the strategies of the art market be torpedoed while adding to fuel to its fire?”
On 18 February, BBC News reported that a recent Banksy mural, known as the Slave Labour mural portraying a young child sewing Union Flag bunting (created around the time of the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II) had been removed from the side of a Poundland store in Wood Green, north London, and soon appeared for sale in Fine Art Auctions Miami's catalogue (a US auction site based in Florida). News of this has reportedly caused "lots of anger" in the local community and is considered by some to be a theft. Fine Art Auctions Miami has rejected claims of theft, saying it had signed a contract with a "well-known collector" and that "everything was above board"; despite this, the local Councillor for Wood Green is campaigning for the work's return.
Following in their footsteps came the sons of local families who, until about 1914, constituted what has been called 'the Berck School'. These included Francis Tattegrain, who was encouraged to take up art by Lepic; Jan Lavezzari, son of the town architect who was also a friend of Lepic; Charles Roussel (1861–1936), who settled in the town in 1886; and Eugène Trigoulet (1864–1910). After World War I the town and its inhabitants continued to be represented artistically by Roussel and by Louis Montaigu (1905–1988). Fishermen in interiors were a speciality of the latter.
